Getting Worked up

Ok i know that sometimes people get a little crazy about religion and sexuality and what not, i myself have been to blame for this. But when i say this on my facebook feed about Final Fantasy i nearly went fucking insane. It was post from someone on a page that was for christian against video games. Now as i was reading this i had understood that this was an attack video games and final fantasy on basis of religion and sexuality, so it was obvious that i would become a little agitated to this,
"Brothers and sisters, need I say much about the video game series "Final Fantasy?" Since the dawn of console gaming, "FF" (as it's known, which ironically enough also stands for fist f***ing) has been invading the minds of our youth with the godless propaganda of the Japanese. That's right! The same people who attacked us during the Civil War, gave us Pokeman, and created Sailor Moon, which was proven in 1994 to be nothing more than a string of cultish images and slang that was to be used as a brain washing tool into satanism and voting as a democrat.
FF depicts men and women as androgynous beings that use magic, summon demons, wear revealing clothing, and talk about subject matter which leads children into questioning beliefs about their sexuality, their one and ONLY God, and whether or not to cut their hair in ways so unimaginable the mere thought of it brings tears to your eyes.
In the game "Final Fantasy X," the player (aka your poor, easily manipulated child) is even tasked with turning against religion and fighting God in order to save some filthy demon summoning whore who thinks she's doing the right thing by blaspheming every chance she gets.
In Final Fantasy 7, you play as Cloud (a cross dressing emo sissy boy) who takes his African American friend on a "man-date" to the fair when he has two other PERFECTLY sexy women to take instead. They even have an intimate ride on a Ferris wheel, which OBVIOUSLY promotes male-on-male friendships.
And the series looks like it's not dying out soon. Final Fantasy 14 (an online sex-craved RPG) has even recently allowed homosexuals to GET MARRIED!!!
Brothers and sisters! When is enough ENOUGH?!! The time is now. Call your local congressmen. Tell them these games need to be taken off the shelves and replace with Bibles! -Thomas."
This was my response....
"Wait wait, i hope that this is a joke. Because i cant think of anything else that would make me more angry than some stupid ass christians trying to shit on everything that they could interpret as satan. Just fucking scare tactics that try to influence parents to take away all of the fucking creativity that could come from other cultures. Saying that pokemon was sent from japan to try to persuade our youth in an attempt to make anti-american solders is bullshit. Ok and the person that wrote this has obviously played both ffX and 7 so the fact that he/she is shitting on it is kinda troublesome. Like they have some trouble with their sexuality or something because these games gave no sexual suggestions at all. And the fact that their taking down religion in FFX, is because that shit is corrupt and their trying to kill the nation of spira. Like what the fuck is that. I hate people like this......."
Now little to my knowledge this was a satirical page that would have made fun of people that were against video games. So every comment after i posted this was like, "you know that this is just suppose to be funny," and "Whoa man, calm down."
Almost immediately i wanted to take it down but i thought that it would have been something that i would be able to share with the few that actually look at my post. In any case im sure that there are people that are out there that believe this about FFX. So i guess that would be what i would say to them.

One Day Get Away

Im sure its common to have those feelings of just wanting to get away from your life for just a day. A day that you could recharge your "batteries." I never realized how lame that actually sounds, lol. But in any case, Im sure that there are plenty of people that need just that one day away from their lives to be able to have some peace quiet. Days that you can relax and just forget about the troubles of the world, and just have the day to think and veg out. Well today I plan on making that day mine. I want no expectations for today, have no responsibilities, and no expectations of me. This day i will clam myself as one cut off by the world around me, and just completely have a day to relax. Although these days are typically for people that have children or some type of really stressful job, but for an average college student you dont really think that these are some days that they would like to have. Well, in some cases i guess that would be true, but in my case it is quite the opposite. Having the stresses of life weigh down on you, and the social issues of family, work, school, and sometimes even friends, can really push you to the edge sometimes. Today i claim as my own, and i wont give this day to anyone.

Expanding Horizons

About this time of the year we see lots of students finding their ways back into high schools, jr highs, and colleges. But for the very few that are able to expand themselves further into the world while using their college as the back bone of their exploration could only be one of the smartest ideas. I have a terrific friend that is doing the same thing, she is making her way to New York and studying while she is able to explore new territory and expand her ideologies and perceptions. I titled this as expanding horizons because reaching the goals that you set for yourself makes you feel so great and alive, but it also leaves you with this feeling of wanting more. So when that happens all you can do is keeping finding new places that you want to explore and new goals that you are able to set for yourself. Not only is setting goals great for determination but also gives a sense of fulfillment. In any case i think this is getting a little to inspirational, but the message is expand your horizons show yourself that there is a world that we live on and it should all be explored.

Tell me about some of your goals and how you would expand your horizons!!!!

Challenging the Summer

So this Summer I set a goal for myself, much like many others, to try and complete something that would prove to help me in the long run. Although this goal of mine seems to be a very ambitious one and there is no way that I would be able to complete all of it in one summer, I thought that it would give me a chance to start something that I have been wanting to learn. So after i finished a few summer courses that i decided to take this summer, my goal was to learn Japanese. Now, i understand that this is very ambitious to set out and try to learn a language in just a few short months, but i thought why not use my time wisely and try my hardest to learn all that i can. Well of course, like learning any language I found it to be much more difficult than i anticipated.... I went to my local bookstore, found some books to help me learn. Like Japanese for Dummies, and a Japanese to English Dictionary. I also searched the web and came across some websites that would help learn what you could online. But what i found most helpful with a range of things was a youtube channel made by a couple, Rachel and Jun, also conveniently called RachelandJun. I had been watching a few of their videos and found that they have a wide spectrum of things that they cover over their channel. Things like what to bring to Japan what not to bring, how to get to Japan, some social issues with Japan, and many other interesting things. In any case setting out to accomplish something in one summer would seem like a great idea for most people to do, being able to have fun and challenge yourself all at the same time. Although i think with this one i might just have over stepped my abilities to be able to accomplish this in one summer.

I would love to hear all of your summer accomplishments and goals that you have set for the summer and if you have any easy tricks or advice in helping me learning another language i would love to hear them.

Always and Forever
Shane
